Cancellation Policy
Terms and Conditions Dogs must be brought in on a leash and cats must be brought in in a suitable carrier. Dogs must be up-to-date and fully vaccinated supported by proof of vaccination prior to boarding. Dogs must also be recently de-wormed (within 3 months), and recently treated with de-tick and de-flea treatment (must be valid for the duration of the boarding period). Cats must be up-to-date and fully vaccinated against Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) supported by proof of vaccination. Cats must also be sterilized, recently dewormed (within three months), plus produce a negative feline aids (FIV) and feline leukemia (FeLV) test which is not older than 6 months (this can be done at the SPCA for boarding cats only for an additional N$250 per cat) prior to boarding. The owner of any animal boarding at the SPCA will be liable for any damages caused by their pet(s). If the pet shall in any form become ill or if the state of the animal’s health otherwise requires veterinary attention, the SPCA at its sole discretion, is authorized to engage the services of the veterinary clinic provided in this Pet Boarding Agreement, if listed veterinary clinic is unavailable, the SPCA has the right to arrange for veterinary services for the animal from a different veterinary clinic. Any services rendered will be at the pet owner’s expense. The owner will be held solely responsible for any and all acts of behavior, including aggression that might take place during boarding. Any boarding occurring over public holidays and/or is more than 14 days, are required to pay 50% of the boarding fee, 7 days prior to the boarding check-in date. If the owner fails to pay by the agreed pick-up date or fails to collect their animal at the end of day on the agreed pick-up date, the owner hereby agrees to give full ownership to SPCA Windhoek after 72 hours, and understands that the SPCA may choose to do as they see fit with the animal. An extension of the boarding agreement shall only be considered should the owner have met the conditions in this agreement, subject to the daily fee, and must be done in writing. The owner will pay for all costs and charges for services requested. The owner understands that no pet will be released until payment has been settled in full. Whilst every care will be taken to keep the pet(s) safe and well whilst at the SPCA, no responsibility will be accepted by the SPCA for damages, injury, illness, or loss.
