FORTH-COMING EVENTS  FOR THE SPCA

Auas Motors Charity Golf Day for the SPCA – to be held on the 16th July 2010

Get a team of 4 together and play Golf for the animals at the SPCA Windhoek!   Even if you can’t play Golf – just come and play and make this day a fun day. It will be a day you’ll never forget!  After the golf, join us for dinner, music and loads of fund at the Windhoek Golf and Country Club!

Last year Auas Motors raised  N$ 309,000.00 for the animals with their SPCA Charity Golf Day.  We intend to get more of the public involved this year as well as the many companies we hope will take part.

The SPCA Windhoek relies purely on the goodwill of the public and can’t save animals if there are no funds.  Currently, the SPCA Windhoek can only keep dogs and cats for up to 8 months.  During this time the dog/cat has to be vaccinated, de-wormed, neutered/spayed, treated if they’re ill or hurt and sometimes they need to be rehabilitated. They get good quality dry food and blankets for their beds. Their kennels have to be cleaned and disinfected daily and they get walked every day.  Dogs and cats are the most common animals, but an increasing number of horses, mules, rats, rabbits and birds are being rescued by the Windhoek SPCA.

The SPCA Windhoek also helps other SPCA branches in Namibia if needed and our vet and other staff often have to travel long distances to inspect cruelty cases. Recently our vet travelled to Usakos, Okahandja and Walvis Bay to help neuter or spay a large number of cats and dogs.

All of this, as well as advertisements to find new homes for the various costs an enormous amount of money.

We can all make a difference towards the wellbeing of animals by supporting the SPCA.  BUT WE CAN’T HELP THE ANIMALS WITHOUT YOU!!  So come to the SPCA Golf Day, have fun and know your presence is making the lives of a lot of animals easier.

NMC had a fun walk last weekend on Saturday the 13th and a few volunteers from the SPCA Windhoek,  decided to take out some SPCA dogs to participate in this fun walk.  All animals we had out were so happy to get out a bit and were all so well behaved.  At the end of the walk, we had some dogs looking at us and saying somehow thank you.  They do not have this privilege of being free – BUT WE FOR SURE HOPE – that they will be free soon and that some nice family will adopt them.  Check out these pictures and decide who YOU would like to adopt!!   Every single dog has its unique personality.  COME ON – get to know them as we have – WHAT A PLEASURE IT WAS – to have taken them out and being with them for the morning.
